2025 Scholarship applications are closed.
Apply anytime for the 2025-2026 school year. Applications will close on March 31st each calendar year.

Criteria

 

Purpose: The PFC Matthew K Guyon Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to college or trade school-bound high

school seniors based on demonstrated community involvement, financial need, and expressed interest in helping

others.

 

Criteria: The students eligible for assistance must be graduating high school seniors who reside in Texas and intend to continue their education at a two or four-year college or university or trade school. Consideration will be given to La Porte, Deer Park, Pasadena, and nearby TX residents. The student’s community service involvement will also be a consideration. Students should submit a scholarship application on the form provided by the Private First-Class Matthew K Guyon Foundation.

 

Guidelines: Scholarships will be awarded and disbursed in a lump sum payment to the higher education institute.

 

Amount: Each scholarship awarded will be a minimum of $500.

Renewal process: This scholarship is not renewable. Only high school seniors intending to enroll in a two or four-year College or university or trade school eligible to apply. Previous scholarship recipients cannot re-apply.

Federal regulations prohibit organizations like Private First-Class Matthew K. Guyon Foundation from using any staff time or resources for partisan political purposes. This is a strict prohibition and any perceived violation could result in a costly investigation by the public, media, and/or IRS and could result in the possible revocation of Private First-Class Matthew K. Guyon Foundation's tax-exempt status. 
Personal political activities carried out by Private First-Class Matthew K. Guyon Foundation's personnel on their own time is permitted, however, no political activity carried out by any Private First-Class Matthew K. Guyon Foundation officer or employee should be considered an endorsement by Private First-Class Matthew K. Guyon Foundation proper.
