The Private First Class Matthew K. Guyon Foundation was recently made aware of a need at Deer Park Junior High School in their Life Skills classroom. The students were eager to grow their cooking skills, but the class lacked some basic essentials — pots, pans, and a couple of hot plates — to truly make their lessons come to life.
We were honored and excited to step in and help meet that need.
This opportunity felt especially meaningful to us because Private First Class Matthew K. Guyon served in the U.S. Army as a chef. Cooking wasn’t just his job — it was his passion. He took pride in preparing meals for others, believing that food was a way to serve, care for, and bring people together.
Knowing that these students will now have the tools they need to learn, create, and build confidence in the kitchen feels like a beautiful continuation of Matthew’s legacy. Supporting hands-on education, life skills, and opportunities for young people to succeed is at the heart of our mission.
We are grateful to Deer Park Junior High for allowing us to be part of their students’ journey — and honored to keep Matthew’s love of service and cooking alive in this small but meaningful way. 💙🇺🇸
