The PFC Matthew K Guyon Foundation was honored to attend the 3rd Annual Folds of Honor South Texas Red, White, and Boots Gala, held at the Lone Star Flight Museum. It was an evening dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and ensuring that their stories, service, and legacies are never forgotten.

Our table was proudly sponsored by Pipefitters Local Union 211, whose support helped make it possible for us to be part of this special evening. We are deeply grateful for their continued commitment to honoring our military, supporting our community, and remembering those who gave everything in service to our nation.

Among the heroes honored that evening was our beloved Matthew.

For the third consecutive year, Matthew’s photograph stood among those of other fallen heroes—a visible reminder that while these brave men and women may no longer be with us, their lives and their sacrifices continue to matter.

Seeing Matthew’s photograph displayed alongside these extraordinary heroes brings a mixture of emotions. There is pride in the young man he was, gratitude for the opportunity to share his story, and the familiar ache of missing someone who should still be here. Yet, there is also comfort in knowing that his name and his legacy continue to be recognized.

Matthew was more than a photograph on a display. He was a son, a brother, a friend, and a young man whose life touched others in ways that continue to ripple through our community. Through the PFC Matthew K Guyon Foundation, we strive to honor his memory by investing in the next generation, supporting our community, and ensuring that the sacrifices of our fallen heroes are never forgotten.

That mission aligns so beautifully with the work of Folds of Honor, which provides educational scholarships to the families of America’s fallen and disabled service members and first responders. Both organizations remind us that honoring a hero means more than remembering how their story ended. It means continuing the work that makes their lives meaningful to future generations.

The Red, White, and Boots Gala was a powerful reminder that behind every uniform, every photograph, and every name is a story—a family who loves them, a community that remembers them, and a legacy worth carrying forward.

We are thankful to Folds of Honor South Texas for creating a space where these heroes are remembered and their families are honored. We are equally grateful to Pipefitters Local Union 211 for sponsoring our table and standing alongside us in this important mission.

Three years. Three displays. And one enduring promise: Matthew’s story will continue to be told.

We will continue to speak his name, honor his sacrifice, and work to ensure his legacy lives on—not only in our hearts, but in the lives we touch and the future we help build.

Because our heroes deserve to be remembered. Their families deserve to be supported. And their legacies deserve to live on.

Honor their sacrifice. Educate their legacy.
